Galileo November 18, 2016 Cohort A
In addition to what was written on the blog from Cohort B, here are some of our takeaways from the November 18th.
“Healthy and sound cultures correlate strongly with increased student achievement and motivation and with teacher productivity and satisfaction.”
We began the session discussing various strategies from Doug Fisher’s presentation on creating a culture of achievement. One of the big ideas we spoke about included Doug Fisher’s 2 x 10. Where various students are mentored by all staff members in a structured format. Staff members meet with their assigned students for 2 minutes, 10 consecutive days. The idea is to talk to that student about anything other than school.
Driving Question - How will we, Galileo Leaders, more intentionally, create a culture of learning in our classrooms and schools?
